Join us for what will be a great weekend
We have had a great summer season at the Llawnroc and as the nights are drawing in we thought it was time to hold a small beer festival.
We will also have some great winter fare and music from a variety of local well-known voices.
The festival will commence on:
Friday the 23rd October
We have Beers from around Cornwall
and some live music from Richard Bennet in the evening.
We continue the fun with Live music from ‘Lucy Anna’ Singer, Song Writer and Cover Artist She is a superb young talent , with an amazing voice 7 – 10 pm
Lucy Anna has played live sessions/interviews at local radio stations; Source FM, Penwith Radio, The Hub and Radio St.Austell Bay and also had her first produced original track played by David White on BBC Introducing.
In February 2014, at the age of 15, she released her debut EP, ‘Stay Strong’ with a launch night at The Nightjar, Truro.
Lucy generally plays a mix of original material and contemporary covers (both of which go down well with audiences) and is not phased by playing to large audiences as she has previously played to a thousand of her peers at a School Assembly.
Most recently she was selected to play at the Heartlands Live Festival on the same day as The Boomtown Rats. Lucy is also delighted to have been booked to play at the Looe Music Festival this year (2015).
A Hog Roast will be served during the afternoon
Yet more beer to sample and fantastic music from ‘Joanne and Nathan’ 12noon until 3pm
alongside Our traditional Sunday lunch
Joanna Cooke and Nathan Austin
The last year has seen popular duo Joanna Cooke and Nathan Austin performing extensively across the west country, playing well over 100 shows and building a growing reputation as a quality act with a distinctive musical style. Venues have ranged from intimate musical settings, through clubs, pubs and restaurants to hotel events and festival appearances, including a stand out performance on the BBC Introducing stage in Cornwall. Earlier this year they supported Island Records’ artist JP Cooper in Truro on his national tour.
Joanna and Nathan released their pop-jazz tinged single ‘Last June’, on iTunes, Amazon etc. Limited edition CD copies, available only at their gigs, sold out. Blues Bunny Music Reviews described it as ‘Irrepressible’ and the track received widespread local radio airplay. Alongside the release, Joanna and Nathan performed live studio sessions in radio stations across the far south west.
As well as a continuing busy schedule of live shows, recording is just about finished now for Joanna’s debut EP which is due out in October.
Audiences at their shows can expect a mix of tasteful covers with a twist and strong original songs, all delivered with Joanna’s distinctive, high quality vocals and piano touches, complemented by Nathan’s fine guitar work, vocals and stomp box percussion.
