3.4 MILES
Gorran Haven to Mevagissey

A walk that consists of mainly coastal paths 

  • Start from the hotel car park
  • Turn left down Chute Lane towards the sea
  • Take a left onto Cliff Road where the road splits (right down Church Street)
  • Follow Cliff Road to the right
  • Continue to the end of the road and to your left you will see a style which will lead you onto the S W Coastal Path
  • Follow the S W Coastal Path along the cliffs to reach Chapel Point Lane.
  • Continue along the path until you reach the end of Chapel Point Lane where you will reach a road
  • Turn right onto the road and continue to Portmellon (a small bay), here you will see The Rising Sun Inn
  • Follow the road past the Inn and up the hill
  • At the T-junction turn right onto Polkirt Hill
  • Follow the road which will lead you towards Mevagissey Harbour
  • Continue down the hill into Fore Street and the centre of the Port
5.4 MILES
The Llawnroc Hotel to Dodman Point and Hemmick Beach

A circular walk that consists of coastal and inland paths 

  • At the hotel car park turn left and walk towards Gorran Haven Harbour down Church Street
  • Follow the road round to the right at the beach then turn left onto Foxhole Lane
  • Follow the steps on your left up the S W Coastal Path
  • Heading along the coastal path and Vault beach can be seen below (you can take a lower left path to visit the beach)
  • Continue along the S W Coastal Path towards the summit and you will reach Dod-man’s Cross on Dodman’s Point
  • Continue along the S W Coastal Path from the point to Hemmick Beach
  • Once you drop down to the beach you reach the road, to continue back to The Llawnroc via Penare, turn right onto the road
  • Follow the road to Penare Farms
  • Turn left and follow the road to a T-junction
  • Turn right onto Lamledra Hill
  • Turn right onto Foxholes Lane towards the beach
  • Turn right then immediate left onto Church Street and continue up the hill
  • Turn left into Chute Lane and you will reach the hotel on your right hand side
4.1 MILES
Kingswood and Pentewan Valley
  • Setting out from the car park in the seaside village of Pentewan, you will make your way to the northwest to enter into the dense cover of the forest and follow along the banks of the St Austell River.

  • Keeping the water’s edge close to your left, take some time to really lose yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of the forested expanse of the Pentewan Valley, before arriving at a junction with the Pentewan Valley Trail towards the north end of the route.

  • Here, you will cross over the track and make your way uphill to the northeast, before turning to the south to traverse the forested slopes of the valley from an elevated position.

  • Eventually, you will descend the hillside and continue on to the southeast through the lovely forest in order to arrive back at the trailhead where you began your adventure.

The Llawnroc Hotel to Chapel Point

A circular walk of 1.9 miles

  • Turn left out the hotel car park and head towards the sea
  • Turn left onto Cliff Road and climb the hill
  • Turn right to continue along to the end of Cliff Road
  • Cross stile bridge on your left hand side onto the S W Coastal Path
  • Follow the path along the cliffs to reach Chapel Point
